NSW Young Liberals Mosque Tour

On the 22nd of June, Auburn Gallipoli Mosque and Affinity co-hosted several members of the NSW Young Liberals for a morning program of awareness, discussion and cultural exchange. The light program was a fruitful and meaningful gathering that highlighted the importance of education and discussion in the face of misinformation and misunderstanding.

The program started with a guided mosque tour, during which the guests had the opportunity to see the Muslim congregational prayer, and a question-answer session about Islamic practices and culture, the architecture and history of the mosque and the Muslim community in Auburn. Towards the end of the tour, Ahmet Keskin, Executive Director of Affinity, stressed such programs are paramount for social cohesion and encouraged ongoing interaction, discussion and dialogue.
