Each year many Muslim families open their homes to Sydney Siders, allowing for an evening of good food and conversation so that we get to know one another and share our lived experiences. This is a unique opportunity to experience the rich heritage of a Ramadan Iftar meal and immerse yourself in the culture of Australian Muslims. What better way to do this than by breaking bread together and enjoining in dialogue during the month of Ramadan!
(2 April – 1 May)
The feedback we have received from previous participants confirms that such engagement facilitates an understanding of Islam and enhances the Muslim community’s sense of belonging and contribution to Australian society. We warmly invite you to be a part of this special community initiative.
To register and see which dates are available for a home iftar dinner please visit the following link: https://forms.
Traditionally, the fast is broken with a date at sunset. Though given that time varies through the month and to include sufficient travelling time, the dinners will be held at 6 pm on weekdays and 5:30 pm on weekends.
Please note that as homes reach capacity, their corresponding dates will be withdrawn from the registration page. We will send you an email once your host family and date have been confirmed.
If you have a friend or colleague who may be interested in attending an iftar dinner, please feel free to provide their details to us or simply share the above link with them.
